TharnType the series; the Ultimate BL

Happy new month readers, I am are starting the month with an ultimate BL series titled TharnType: The Series. It is a 2019 Thai television series starring Suppasit Jongcheveevat and Kanawut Traipipattanapong. It is an adaptation of the popular web novel TharnType Story by MAME and one of the best Thai BL series of all time.

Plot

The story follows a prejudiced university boy and a homosexual roommate who are always on constant tension but they gradually open up to each other, developing their hate into affection.

Even though it was hard to continue after watching the first episode, the series was still remarkable.

Type is a handsome freshman with a passion for football, although he’s a friendly boy, he hates gay people because in his childhood, he was molested by a male worker at his family’s resort. His life turns upside down when the new academic year of college brings along a charismatic roommate, Tharn.

Tharn is a gorgeous, compassionate music major who is also openly gay. When Type learns this, he is determined to make Tharn leave the dorm, because he refuses to live with a gay person. Tharn is equally determined not to give into Type’s homophobic demands and tantrums. The tension between the two increases as they explore romantic, and eventually sexual dimensions of their relationship.

This type of storyline has been seen before but Tharntype still manages to bring it to another level. Type is still homophobic, but somehow he fell in love with Tharn because being in a relationship with Tharn helped him to view things differently and his hatred eventually subsides.

The story wasn’t perfect and even the characters were flawed but that’s actually the reason why it is such a commendable series. Watching the series, you will be able to feel every emotion through the screen- it was that good. The chemistry between MewGulf, the actors that played TharnType is so unreal and undeniable, which made me appreciate the series.

The unique storyline, perfect cast and amazing performances by the actors would give you a very satisfying feeling. You will fall in love with Tharn’s calmness and get frustrated with Type’s hilarious outbursts. Their romance is so addictive, it makes the heart flutter. They were so natural and so incredibly convincing in their nuances of expression, their deep gazes, and their lingering touches made it hard to believe it was not real.

Cast

Suppasit Jongcheveevat nicknamed Mew, Kanawut Traipipattanapong nicknamed Gulf, Thanayut Thakoonauttaya nicknamed Thong, Suttinut Uengtrakul nicknamed Mild with cameo appearances from Suppapong Udomkaewkanjana nicknamed Saint. It was directed by Tee Bundit Sintanaparadee.

The series was very good, here are a few times my jaws dropped while watching so watch out for these scenes

When Type gifted Tharn with condoms for his birthday; how insane can Type be? Don’t tell me, I watched the series too.

When Type claimed Tharn in front of P’San; there is just something about that scene that keeps me replaying.

Before they even became a couple ; one of the most hilarious moments in TharnType, when Type straight up asked Tharn to have sex with him. Type got so much confidence!

When they had sex with No in the room; that wouldn’t be the worst thing they have done.

Every scene between Tharn and Type; they are just so adorable and good for each other.

With just 2 seasons with 24 episodes plus 2 special episodes, you are guaranteed to have a great time watching TharnType. If you have seen it, let me know what you think in the comments.

I appreciate every comment
