Hello, amazing book lovers. There have been a lot of great things happening in the world of books and we wanted to catch you up!

Red, White, Royal Blue the Movie (Amazon Prime Video, TBA)

For all the lovers of Casey McQuiston’s famous romance novel, Red, White & Royal Blue, this is such great news because nothing beats one of your favorite books getting adapted. Taylor Zakhar and Nicholas Galitzine are casted as Alex and Henry respectively.

Anatomy of a Scandal (Netflix, April 15)

This is an American anthology thriller drama streaming television miniseries developed by David E. Kelley and Melissa James Gibson based on the novel of the same name by Sarah Vaughan. The series consists of six episodes. It stars Rupert Friend as James and Sienna Miller as his wife, Sophie.

The Summer I Turned Pretty (Amazon Prime Video, June 17)

Before To the Boys I’ve loved before was The Summer I turned pretty. It is an American coming-of-age romantic drama television series based on the novel of the same name by Jenny Han. It stars Lola Tung as Belly, Christopher Brine and Gavin Casalegno as Conrad and Jeremiah respectively. Ahead of the series premiere, it was renewed for a second season.

Netflix teams up with Stephen King and Duffer Brothers (Netflix, TBD)

Netflix has teamed up with the Duffer brothers’ new production company, Upside Down Pictures, to bring the new adaptation of Stephen King and Peter Straub’s horror novel to fruition. The news was announced by Netflix via Twitter.

Pachinko (Apple TV+, March 25 )

Pachinko is an American drama television series created by Soo Hugh based on the novel of the same name by Manhattan-based author and journalist Min Jin Lee. The series is directed by Kogonada and Justin Chon and stars Youn Yuh-jung, Lee Min-ho, Kim Min-ha and Jin Ha. In April 2022, the series was renewed for a second season.

Salem’s Lot (In theaters, Sept. 9)

Written and directed by Gary Dauberman, it’ll be the first major motion picture adaptation of Stephen King’s acclaimed vampire novel with some real horror firepower behind it and a solid cast. It stars Lewis Pullman as Ben Mears and the new release is slated for August 2.

Conversations With Friends (Hulu, May 15)

Conversations with Friends is an Irish television series based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Irish author Sally Rooney. It is the second adaptation by Element Pictures for BBC Three and Hulu in association with RTÉ after Normal People in 2020.

Where the Crawdads Sing (In theaters, July 15)

It is an upcoming American mystery drama film based on the novel of the same name by Delia Owens, directed by Olivia Newman from a screenplay written by Lucy Alibar, and produced by Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter. The film stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Taylor John Smith, Harris Dickinson, Michael Hyatt, Sterling Macer, Jr. and David Strathairn.
