About;

A road to emotional healing opens up for an anti social children’s book author (Seo YeaJi)and an employee in a psychiatric hospital (Kim Soo Hyun)

The romantic comedy which has just 16 episodes is a solid 9/10. The show is quite different because the writer dealt with the sensitive subject of mental illness and autism while incorporating fairytales into the show. That is amazing.

The show isn’t like your usual K drama which is all romance, it is a very heavy show with a perfect balance that will surely evoke some emotions out of you. The show gets better with each episode and one will enjoy watching right from the first episode to the last one. After watching all 16 episodes, you can’t help but feel hollow.

The character development in the show is quite important and amazing. The characters grew and healed so well from the first episode to the last episode. The acting skills was top notch and it made the show a masterpiece. The relationship between the three main characters was refreshing to watch and the chemistry between the two characters: Soo Hyun and Seo Yea Ji was so cute and interesting as well. The two acted really well apart and even better together.

The idea of a female lead was just so different and the way Seo Yea Ji acted like a crazy lead character was very impressive, we couldn’t have asked for a better female character for the show. Let’s not forget the styling and outfits of Seo Yea Ji, there wasn’t a single outfit she didn’t pull off. Both actors were aesthetically pleasing to watch.

The stories told in the show were interesting and the way each stories were tied back to what was happening in the episodes was brilliant. The plot of the show which was actually good combined with great directing with the amazing cast made the show a masterpiece that isn’t talked about enough. The show obviously won’t be complete without the supporting character’s brilliant acting as well. That element of fairy tales was just exceptional.

Some of the scenes were rewatched many times and it will be done again. The idea of a mental hospital was impressive, as it showed a side we don’t quite see in K dramas.

This is a show you will not forget because it is okay not to be okay.

The show was written by Cho Yong and directed by Park Shinwoo. It also stars Oh Jung-se, Park Gyu-young among others. It is available on Netflix.

No one understands a broken soul better than another scarred one.”
